The Residents’ Interhall Congress (RIC) distributed green recycling bags and informational flyers to each resident’s room on-campus. RIC is an organization designed to improve the quality of life for the on-campus population of students.  Working as a collaborative unit for all residence halls, RIC is a governing body composed of executives, legislative representatives and judiciary officials. RIC’s goal is to develop residence hall policies, procedures, programs, and facilities to best serve the interests of students living on campus.

The green recycling bags are green cloth bags. The bags are reusable and have over the shoulder straps. The bags are for residents to take their recycling to the recycling bins in their respective hall. The bags make it easier for the residents to carry all of their recycling.

The event was Tuesday, September 24th at 7:00 pm. Students from all different RSO’s came to help with distributing, but the majority of students were from LeadHogs, RIC, and RA senate. The students split into teams in order to divide and conquer the task of distributing the bags to all of the halls. Students who volunteered at the event were given the opportunity to post on Instagram with the hashtag #greenbagdistribution to enter a give-away. Ozark Natural Foods graciously donated the items for the giveaway.
